- Keep indoor air moist - to prevent drying out of nasal/throat mucus membranes. Heat from the furnace, stove, and other heat sources dries out the indoor air.
- Hot/cold shower - daily fortifies the body against colds/flu. Alternately shower with 3 min. hot water then 1 min. cold water x 3 cycles. This helps to produce the powerful enzyme called “lysozyme” naturally found in the secretions of the mouth and nose. The cold virus ceases to function when exposed to lysozyme.
- Hydration - Drink 8 - 10 glasses of nature’s beverage, water, to flush out toxins, bathe and nourish the cells, thin the blood, and lubricate mucus membranes in the nose, throat, and other areas of the body.
- Dress properly - Keep the limbs/extremities, arms, legs, feet, and head adequately covered. This promotes healthful circulation of the blood. Perfect circulation = perfect health.
- Stress - weakens the immune system, lowering resistance to colds/flu.
- Sugar - decreases white blood cells that fight off colds/flu. Avoiding sugar in all its forms starves germs and viruses.
- Exercise - daily fortifies the body.
- Keep a regular schedule for bedtime - Get to bed early, e.g., 9:30 P.M. or earlier. The hours slept prior to midnight are the most restorative. Two hours of sleep before midnight = 4 hours of sleep after midnight.
- Eat balanced meals - Consume whole grains/cereals and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, and load up on vitamins A, B, C, and D. Whole grains are loaded with B vitamins.
- Hot foot baths - at the first sign of cold/flu symptoms, the first chance you get, put your feet in hot water, kept continuously as hot as you can stand, for 20 min. Then end by pouring a pitcher of cold water over the feet. Dry the feet well, put on warm clothes/pajamas, and socks. Do not allow bare feet to touch the ground. Recline for 30 minutes or so.
- Herbs - Astragalus, echinacea, garlic, goldenseal, help boost immunity along with 1000 mg daily vitamin C.
- Cleanse colon - enema and colon irrigation help rid the body of accumulated toxins.
